I am here to tell you some things about the Netherlands, the country were my family and I came from almost 2 years ago.
Holland is a very small country; it is about the size of Melbourne.
It is in the north of Europe. The capital city is Amsterdam.
We speak Dutch and our flag is red white and blue.
At my old school I didn’t wear a uniform, everyday was Free Dress!
My school started at 8.30 and every day we went home for lunch.
Did you know?
- That the tallest people in Europe live in Holland?
- That because of the time difference it is night in Holland when it is daytime here?
- That the Dutch discovered Australia in 1606?
- That we don’t have dollars, we paid with Euros?
- That there are 2 times as much bikes as cars in Holland?
And just to let you know: Nobody wears clogs anymore!!
Thank you for listening.
Noa van der Meché
